Leta Teressa, Solomon Libs, R.B.chavan, Daniel Manve, Anbessa Dabassa (2015) conducted experiments on the production of Biogas by using food waste, fruit waste, vegetable waste and cow manure as the raw material source in different combinations. They have searched for the alternate source of energy such as Biogas so as to arrest the ecological digesters like environmental pollution and erosion.

They used two different compositions in two different anaerobic digesters in which one contains the mixture of food waste and cow manure and the digester contains the combination of fruit vegetable waste and cow manure. Various different volumes of digesters were employed for Biogas production. It took 55 days for complete digestion in an anaerobic digester

The combustibility of the gas which generated was tested. Anaerobic digestion is very sensitive to change in pH, so they maintained the pH in between 6.7 – 7.4. They finally concluded that without the need for nutrient and chemical addition of the system the Biogas can be generated by maintaining the proper pH and temperature.
